A special time to spend on KOHAKU Terrace from sunset to starry sky

KOHAKU Terrace is the hotel's proud sunset viewing rooftop space where you can enjoy the nature of Awajishima with your five senses away from everyday life.
In November, from 16:00 to 17:30, you can see the sunset that changes color every moment.

And from 17:30 when the sun set, a starry sky viewing party will be held.
This is a special moment where you can enjoy the night sky at the beginning of winter with commentary by professional staff.
Except for the large telescope, you can also experience the power of stars such as the crescent moon and Saturn.

• KOHAKU Terrace is outdoors, so please take measures against cold weather.

• Due to the event in the dark, from the viewpoint of safety, please be careful when accompanied by small children.

• If it is determined that the stars are difficult to see depending on the weather, it will be canceled.

In October, we were able to observe Comet Lemon, which appeared for the first time in 1350 years.
While the observation conditions were limited due to the position of the stars and the flow of clouds, we believe that our guests could enjoy this day under the finest sky of fine weather.

The wind was blowing strongly on the day, so please come after sufficient cold protection when participating in the future.

What is Comet Lemon?
The official name of the comet called Comet Lemon is C/2025 A6 (Lemmon).
It was named after it was discovered on January 3, 2025 by Mount Lemmon Observatory in Arizona, United States.

The best time for observation is from late October to early November 2025.
At this time, it is expected to appear in the low sky from west to northwest in the evening.
The brightness is expected to be about 3 to 4 degrees.
However, comets have widened light, so they may feel slightly darker than stars of the same grade.

Comet Lemon is classified as a "long-period comet" that rotates the Sun in a cycle of more than 1,000 years.
For this reason, it is regarded as a valuable opportunity once in a lifetime that we can observe in modern times, attracting attention not only from astronomy fans but also from many people.
